MPP1000시리즈는 케이블에 서지가 발생했을 때 자기와 음향에 의해 차폐된 곳에 정확한 고장점을 찾는데 사용된다. MPP1000시리즈는 음향탐지와 전자기 탐지용으로 사용될 수 있고, 싱글 또는 듀얼 구성으로 사용할 수 있다. 싱글 탐지모드일때 장비는 음향방출을 검색하고 음향 및 전자기 사이의 시간 지연 측정신호와 거리를 탐색한다.
두 번째 탐지기가 추가되면 고장점의 방향까지 표시를 해 준다.
